Educated at George Stephenson High School, North Tyneside, gaining A-level Maths and Physics. Subsequently passed the British Computer Society Part 1 examinations.

Explain your job to a non-expert:
I own and run the business. I also do computer programming work for some of our customers, although I am doing my best to give this up.
Spare time:
I go cycling. Sometimes I get to go sailing and I also spend a fair amount of time watching my children performing on stage.
Family:
Married to Wendy with three children, Lauren, Dave and Heather.
You might be surprised to know that:
I have sailed across the North Sea to Norway. It’s about 300 miles. The North Sea oil fields run down the middle, so you sail across 150 miles of empty sea, past rigs and ships (and people), and then across another 150 empty miles.
